Thank you to everyone who took the time to come to the school last Thursday for the last ever Wascana School open house! It was great to meet so many of you and talk about your amazing children! It was a long day, having just been out at Fort Qu'Appelle for Treaty 4 Days, but it was great to hear Mr. Fladager talk about Seven Stones and to show off our classroom to so many families! The chairs were a big his with lots of little brothers and sisters!

September 9th - 13th

Hi all! I am excited for our first full week together this year! We have a very busy and exciting week ahead of us. We will be beginning our training for our Daily Five and Explore+4 routines in literacy and numeracy, and have our open house on Thursday evening. As well, we will be travelling to Fort Qu'Appelle for Treaty 4 Days on Thursday. Please remember to check the weather on Thursday morning to ensure that your child is able to enjoy the day as much as possible!

Finally, please make an effort to check and sign your child's agenda every evening. I check the agendas every day, and they are the best way to keep you informed about the events happening at the school. I hope to see you all at our Open House on Thursday evening (6-7:30 pm)!

Getting Prepared

What a lot of work it's been getting our new classrooms ready for your arrival next Tuesday! Ms. Bird, Ms. Agecoutay-Sweet, and I have been working non-stop to make the senior wing of the school look like a comfortable and inspiring place to learn. We've moved furniture and boxes all over the school and climbed the stairs about forty million times already...and all during the hottest week of the summer!

I am anxious to see how you like the spaces we've set up! In our classrooms, we have some new furniture to try out (collapsable tables and comfortable chairs) and new routines to get used to.  We have also set up a room especially for inquiry where we will be able to work together as senior students! Another new feature we are creating is a book room especially for the senior students. This will be like our own private library, and will make finding a book for our Daily Five program a lot easier!

I can't wait to get started! See you next week!
